Wild-Card Round Preview - Vikings @ Rams
Rounding out Wild-Card Weekend, we have the 14-win Minnesota Vikings visiting the 10-win LA Rams. The significance of this matchup is that LA have already beaten Minnesota this year, with that win also coming one week after the Vikings fell to the Lions. Will this be deja vu for Kevin O’Connell’s men, or can he outfox his old boss Sean McVay?

Vikings @ Rams Wild-Card Round Preview
The LA Rams may be tied for the fewest wins of any team to make the playoffs, but only a fool would overlook them. Since Week 8, they are 8-3, including wins over the Buffalo Bills and these Minnesota Vikings. The key factor in these wins has been the health of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, with the latter earning 990 yards in just 11 games played. He has been unstoppable at times, and will be a major concern for the Vikings defense, especially considering he had over 100 yards against them last time.
That said, the Vikings still have much to be excited about on defense. They have posted the fourth most sacks with 49, and lead the league with 24 interceptions, which is 5 more than Houston in second place. With Brian Flores cooking up brilliant schemes all year long, his unit have held opponents to just 19.5 points, which is 5th best in the NFL, and just 93.4 rushing yards per game, which is second best in the NFL.
They are, however, coming off a one-sided loss to the Detroit Lions in a game that would have earned them the one-seed had they won. It was not an ideal way to enter the playoffs, made worse by Sam Darnold’s dismal 43.9% completion rate. Can he bounce back against a Rams defense that is giving up 222.8 passing yards per game, 20th in the NFL?

Wild-Card Round Predictions: Vikings @ Rams
The week of rest for LA will be key here, especially considering their opponents have just been beaten up, physically and emotionally, by the bully boys of the NFC, Detroit. Teams have struggled all year long in games played one week after facing the Lions, and the Rams have had an extra week to rest and prepare. They can get the upset victory here.
