The UEFA Champions League is the top tier continental club soccer tournament in Europe. One of them being the introduction of the round-robin stage which allowed more teams from different countries to join the tournament.

As of today, the UEFA Champions League comprises 32 teams in the group stage. After the round of 16, quarterfinals and semifinals there are two finalists left who will then play each other for the most prestigious club tournament trophy at a pre-determined stadium.

The winner of the tournament will later play the champion of the UEFA Europa League, the European second highest ranked club soccer tournament. This is a one-game final named the UEFA Super Cup and is normally played before the domestic leagues begin in August.
