2025 Peach Bowl | Game Preview, Time & TV Channels

This year, the Peach State is hosting a College Football Quarterfinal, as the Arizona State Sun Devils and Texas Longhorns do battle in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. For much of the year, the Longhorns looked like the team to beat, but two losses to Georgia meant that they had to defeat the Clemson Tigers in the first round to get here. The Sun Devils, meanwhile, earned a first round bye by hammering the Iowa State Cyclones in the Big 12 Championship Game, now ready to show just how good they can be.

What is the Peach Bowl Game

The Peach Bowl has been one of the staples of the College Football season since 1968, earning its name due to the game belonging to the Peach State. After having several different homes, the Peach Bowl now takes place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. This fixture has showcased some of the SEC and ACC’s finest, and, this year, it is being elevated to College Football Playoff quarterfinal status, hosting the Big 12 Champion Arizona State Sun Devils, as they tackle the Texas Longhorns.

Arizona State Sun Devils vs Texas Longhorns Game Preview

Despite earning a first round bye, it is the Arizona State Sun Devils who will enter this game as underdogs, facing off against a Texas team who fell just short of winning the vaunted SEC. Scoring on the Longhorns has been incredibly difficult this year, with the team ranking second in the nation when it comes to both points and yards conceded per game, with 13.3 and 261.4 respectively. They are giving up the second fewest passing yards per game, with 156.9, and also rank 9th for rushing yards with just 104.5 given up per game.

They are a formidable unit to go up against, but the Sun Devils have a unique weapon up their sleeve, in the form of Cam Skattebo, who has over 2,000 yards from scrimmage this year. His 1,568 yards and 19 touchdowns have come at 6 yards per carry, whilst also adding 506 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air. When you add in 1,101 yards from Jordyn Tyson, there is more than enough talent here to keep the Longhorns on their toes.

When Texas take to the field, they will be hoping Quinn Ewers can play clean football and let his playmakers loose. It hasn’t been the season that Ewers was hoping for, after entering the year as a candidate for the first overall pick in the 2025 draft, but he is more than capable of doing damage. He has 2,867 yards, 26 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on the year, but didn’t have to do much in the first round of the playoffs, as his running backs took over.

Jaydon Blue and Quintrevon Wisner combined for over 250 yards and 4 touchdowns to see off the Clemson Tigers, and they will now turn their attention to a sturdy Arizona State defense. With 117.8 yards conceded per game on the ground, the Sun Devils rank 22nd in the nation. A strong outing from their D-line will be key to holding off the Longhorns here, but by no stretch the only key to the game, as Texas also benefits from talent in the passing game. Matthew Golden leads the way with 787 yards and 8 touchdowns, but is closely followed by talented tight end Gunnar Helm, with 688. Add in Isaiah Bond and freshman Ryan Wingo, and this is an explosive bunch of playmakers.
