Viewing options

Cable and Satellite options

With ESPN and ABC carrying the majority of the Wimbledon action, most cable and satellite packages will allow you to tune in. Packages such as Cox, DirecTV, DISH, and Verizon Fios all tick the boxes, whilst also including Tennis Channel, to give you some bonus tennis content. The prices for these packages start at $61 a month and range to around the $159.99 a month mark. That is a fair chunk to pay, but viewers will also benefit from access to a vast array of other sports, entertainment, and news channels. They are a great way to seriously upgrade your television viewing experience.

It is worth noting that Wimbledon's qualifying matches, in addition to some other bonus Wimbledon content, are only being shown on ESPN+. This is an add-on service, that does not come with any of the cable or satellite TV packages listed. If you want complete coverage, including qualifying, you will have to add on an ESPN+ subscription, which costs $10.99 a month.

  • Cox - $61.00–$152.00/month
  • DirecTV - $69.99–$159.99/month
  • Dish - $84.99-$114.99 /month
  • Verizon Fios - $69.00–$129.00/month

Streaming Services

For a lot of people, streaming services are becoming a more popular route to go down, largely because of their increased flexibility, whilst still offering an enticing array of channels. Again, with ESPN and ABC being such common channels, the vast majority of providers will give you access to Wimbledon. Streaming services tend to be a little bit more expensive than the base cable packages per month, but there are several options to consider. Firstly, SlingTV will give you the cheapest package of the lot for $55 a month. More importantly, though, we would like to point out that the Hulu + Live TV package comes with ESPN+ included, making that the most complete option for Wimbledon.

How to Watch Wimbledon for Free

For fans who don’t want to splash out on one of the pricey packages listed above, there are some options for you to consider to watch some, or all, of Wimbledon for free. Firstly, many streaming services offer free trials, giving you access to all their channels for between 5 and 7 days without spending a penny. If you utilize some of these one after another, you will be able to enjoy the majority of the tournament for free. Just remember to cancel the subscription before the free trial ends, otherwise you will be charged the full amount.

Another option would be to buy an over-the-air antenna, which will cost somewhere in the range of $30. With this, if you are in range of an ABC station, then you will be able to tune in for free.

Tournament Information

The 2024 Wimbledon Championships, taking place between the 1st and 14th of July, is the next thrilling installment of Grand Slam tennis. As one of the four Grand Slam tournaments to take place throughout the year, it is one of the crown jewels of the tennis calendar, offering the world’s best players the opportunity to etch their names into the history books and join a long list of tennis legends to win the prestigious tournament.

Those legends include the likes of Roger Federer, who is an 8-time champion, and Novak Djokovic, who is tied with the American, Pete Sampras, on 7 titles. If Djokovic can return to full health in time for July, he will have an opportunity to join Federer at the top of the leaderboard.

It is the Americans who have dominated the women’s competition, with Martina Navratilova and Helen Wills Moody leading the way with 9 and 8 championships respectively. One behind them is the great Serena Williams, who had 7 titles, which is 2 ahead of her sister Venus, who had 5. Markéta Vondroušová was crowned champion last year, but with odds of +2000  she isn’t given much of a chance this time around. Read on for more betting tips.

Wimbledon 2024 - Preview & Predictions

On the men’s side of things, the 21-year-old Spanish prodigy, Carlos Alcaraz is the man to beat. He heads the betting market with odds of +168 . The powerful youngster triggered the beginning of the changing of the guard last year, defeating the great Novak Djokovic in a thrilling contest that needed all 5 sets to separate the two. Alcaraz recovered from a 6-1 hammering in the first set to secure the victory in very impressive fashion.

The runner-up on that day, Novak Djokovic, is no stranger to this tournament, having won the prestigious Grand Slam 7 times. Unfortunately, fans may have to go without seeing the tennis legend this time around, as he struggles to recover from knee surgery. If he does miss, then that is a great boost to Alcaraz’s chances, as well as our second-favorite, Janik Sinner, who, with odds of +170, is essentially a co-favorite. Sinner, the current world number one, is a rising Australian star, fresh off an Australian Open victory and very much in the hunt for another Grand Slam.

Things are a bit more open in the women’s competition. Aryna Sabalenka is the favorite, with odds of +280 , but she is closely followed by Elena Rybakina (+335), Iga Swiatek (+350) and Coco Gauff (+700). Sabalenka enjoys favoritism thanks to her booming serve and explosive groundstrokes, but this is by no means going to be a walk in the park. Swiatek is the current world number one, and Rybakina reigned supreme back in 2022. This one promises to be a thriller.
