Stanley Cup Finals 2021
28th June update - Tampa Bay Lightnings will face Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup finals. Tampa Bay have won the four previous encounters and will go into the final series as favorites. Montreal however, impressed in the semifinal series and defeated Vegas by 4-2 and should not be underestimated here. Tampa Bay will begin the series with two straight home games before the show goes on to Montreal for another two games. If the final series reaches the seventh game it will be held on July 11th - Check out the Stanley Cup Finals schedule here.
The Stanley Cup semifinals have tightened up and it looks like we will have a fight all the way into game nr 7. Three of the four semifinal teams are the same as in last year’s Stanley Cup semifinals. Montreal Canadiens have improved their record from last season when they got knocked out by Philadelphia in the first-round. Tampa Bay is the reigned Stanley Cup champions and will be the first team since Pittsburgh in 2016 and 2017 to win the Stanley Cup for two consecutive seasons if they manage to go all the way this season.
Tampa Bay is the most trusted team by the bookmakers to win the Stanley Cup, followed by Montreal, Vegas and NY Islanders. The odds are however telling us that it will be an even race between four team who all have a good chance of lifting the trophy in July.
